Online prescription submission
Send your electronic prescription (dematerialised NRE) or paper prescription in advance by email or WhatsApp: when you arrive at the pharmacy your order will already be prepared. If a medicine is not immediately available, the pharmacy immediately places an order with wholesalers — who normally deliver within a few hours — reducing waiting times even for less common medicines.
For controlled substances and equivalents the original prescription must still be handed in: the advance submission only serves to start the order.
Frequently asked questions
Which prescriptions can I send?
You can send the reminder slip for an electronic dematerialised prescription (NRE), identifiable by its 15-digit numeric code, or a photo/scan of a paper prescription. For controlled substances and equivalents the original prescription must still be handed in at the pharmacy: the advance submission only serves to initiate the order.
How do I send the prescription?
Simply send a clear photo or scan by email or WhatsApp, including your name, surname, phone number and — if helpful — an approximate collection time. The pharmacy checks availability, prepares the medicines and contacts you only if additional information is needed (for example when the fiscal code is missing for a dematerialised prescription).
How far in advance should I send it?
For common medicines that are in stock, a few minutes' notice is sufficient. For less common products, compounded medicines, special formats or significant quantities it is better to send the prescription at least half a day in advance: if the item is not in stock, the pharmacy immediately places an order with wholesalers, who normally deliver within a few hours.
How will I know when to come in?
If the prescription is complete and the medicines are available, the order will be ready when you arrive during opening hours. The pharmacy will contact you only when necessary: a medicine to order, a check with the prescribing doctor, a specific question.
Is it safe to send a prescription by email or WhatsApp?
The main sensitive data is the prescription code. Messages are handled confidentially by pharmacy staff and are not shared with third parties. Those who prefer can also give just the NRE code verbally by phone, without sending images.
